Born in the state of Saxony, Germany, Damien retains little of his past. At least, he appears to retain very little. He was born to an average family, leaning towards the middle-upper class. He received the best education his family could afford, that being something which his father stressed with great fervor. From a young age, he grew interested in the subject of history. He was fascinated by the way humanity worked, and how different societies interacted with each other. As his love for history matured and he delved into more complex subjects, such as the aspects of government and politics, his passion switched to law and political sciences. Reaching his early teens, he developed a strong interest for debating. Easily, it could’ve been what he was most passionate about.

Behavioral and psychological analysis and patterns, political and economic theories, military strategy, sociological principles and theories, methods of government, these all became subjects of interest for Damien. He continued to immerse himself in sciences which dealt directly with humans. His love for history slowly developed into a love for studying the human race, the way they developed as well as the way they thought, interacted and felt. What was a simple conversation for anyone became a rigorous analysis of personality and reasoning which he fully enjoyed. Humans fascinated Damien. However, this fascination had its limits defined. It was merely observational, and rarely did it involve any sort of bonding.

Family life for Damien was cold. His father concerned himself far too much with what he called “private matters”, and he always shared a very rough relationship with his mother, wherein there was little communication. Furthermore, he constantly felt alienated from his peers, given his Shifter nature. There was little affection in his life. Whatever relationship he had was short lasting. He could not commit to love, since he never learnt exactly how to do so. It didn’t seem to bother him, however. Love and affection never formed a part of his life, thus it didn’t pain him to not have it since he didn’t know how it felt like to ever have it. Any knowledge he held of those emotions came from his studies.

Life changed for Damien upon entering college. He became much more discrete about his life. Not that he was ever the most sociable person, but he distanced himself from other people, as if he were to be hiding something. However, this was more than just hiding something. It was as if he were trying to protect what was hiding inside, or was simply just fearful of being discovered. Regardless, college shrouded his life with what others called a cloud of mystery which he refused to clear up.

He was a brilliant student, however, taken interest in law and international affairs. He often received praise from teachers who found him outstanding. In fact, it was his teachers whom he talked to the most, in particular those whose classes dealt with some form of relationships between people. It struck his peers as weird since he was always so distant, and he was the last person they’d think would take up for a degree in public relations. Whenever questioned about it, though, he said he had his reasons. Business, he called it, simply family business.

Always exceeding at school, he obtained both a law degree, allowing him to interpret the law, and a degree in international relationships, making him fully aware of the status of neighboring countries. Those were his original subjects of interests, but nobody seemed to be able to figure why he’d go for two degrees that had little to do with running an actual business. When asked, he would give the same answer as always. Business.

Regardless of his intentions, soon after finishing what he required of his studies, he left his home country of Germany. He traveled around the continent, for reasons which he kept to himself, until arriving in the country of Switzerland, where he would settle in the city of Dresden. His reason: business.
