Southern Wing Librabry

The academy's southern wing library was something that made you speechless, the seemingly endless hallways and ranks of shelves filled to the brim with books was almost incomparable to Olin. Even the vast library of his childhood estate had nothing on this place although it did have an eerie feel to it. As you look down the corridors and aisles it seemed that it simply became abysmally black despite the gold and bronze finish on most of the library apparel that shone in the main foyer which housed a large amount of studying sections. Olin looked around and he could see many students studying and although he wasn't a student, he heard that this was the pace to learn about certain mythical and fantasy creatures the townsfolk of Dresden often whispered rumors of. Thing like Faeries and Were-beasts and although extremely skeptic, Olin had to pursue in a quest for knowledge.

Olin walked along the aisles and looked for the particular section in which he was to conduct his research in, it didn't take very long to find a small golden plaque which read: "Mythology". He began to walk down the well-organized alphabetical aisle and looked for a certain name to begin his research. After a few minutes of looking, the first book was found, one entailing and describing Lycans in great detail as well as some history on them, he grabbed a few books and continued down and again this time in search for a book about Faeries. There seem to only be a small section of books on these mysterious creatures but Olin grabbed one nevertheless as to not want to miss anything. they seemed to be dangerously curious creatures. Last but not least, another small section on Shifters, peoples who seem to be able to change their shape into animals but as Olin went and reached for the book he realized that something was missing, his golden cufflink. "Damn" he swore silently to himself as he looked to the ground in both directions of the aisle but he couldn't see it glimmering in the dim light. He picked up the small book on shifters and began making his way back to the desks, getting down on his knees on occasion to try and find his missing cufflink. He hoped to find it as it was a very expensive piece to his set and it completed his royal attire.

Among inexhaustible amounts of literature.

The library was a second home, a place of comfort and ease. The eerie silence was appealing and the security of the literature was lovely. The scent of aged paper wafted throughout the aisles of the library creating an aged feeling. As if you walked throughout the pages of time and history hand in hand with the books. The books were well organized and the dark wood shelves dusted and kept to the highest standards. There was quite the variety of students throughout the library, those who vigorously studied those who goofed around and all of those in-between.

Alora always sat in the back of the library, where the corners of the walls met in the farthest isles. Anti-social was an understatement in her case, avoidance was the correct term. Losing something you cannot replace had taken a toll on her mental ability to communicate with people. She now and then peered through the empty spaces on the shelf to make sure none came her way as she read. Her mind was like an encyclopedia that kept growing, volume by volume. Quietly she scuffled to and fro the shelves creating a pile of books near where she sat. A glimmer of light caught her eye as she was walking and she bent down finding a golden cuff link on the ground, snugly fit into a small crack on the bottom shelf, in the Faeries section. Glancing around she looked for a person, yet saw no one near her isle and she placed it on a shelf where it was visible and stuck a post it note on it that read I’m lost and walked off.

Cute notes made her shyly smile; personifying the cuff link was something that was a big joke in Aloras head as she returned to her second home, near all of her books.

Southern Wing Librabry

After about a half hour of searching, Olin returned to the aisle in which he believed he lost the small cufflink. He had searched the neighboring aisles in case the cufflink had somehow fallen through one of the bookshelves as he noticed some were open on both sides. He had no luck in the other aisles and was dead-set on finding the lost object before he left. Normally he would simply scoff away at the lost of such an item as it was very simplistic and not very valuable but to Olin, it was invaluable because it belonged to his father.

As he was walking back towards the faerie section of the aisle he could see what looked like a young woman walking in the opposite direction, he was going to approach her but then he noticed a small shimmering object on the shelf with a note. He chuckled under his breath at the note and recovered his cufflink. He was quite glad that he found it and he was also quite sure that the woman he had seen walking away had something to do with it. he began to walk in the direction in which the girl was headed and kept an eye out for her. he didn't get a very good look at her the first time but after a few minutes of walking he came to the back corner of the library where a few desks sat and he believed he saw her in the corner sitting beside a fortress of stacked books.

"Pardon me madam, but would you be the person responsible for finding my cufflink?" he whispered to her as he approached her. He set down his books for research on a desk that sat close to hers but not too close that he would disturb her he thought.

AMONG INEXHAUSTIBLE AMMOUNTS OF LITERATURE.

Aloras head was face first into a book, her white hair flowing over the cover of the book gently running through her fingers while they gripped onto the sides of the book. She looked up startled at the man who had just talked to her, she glanced and saw the yellow post it note in his hand and lowered her book shaking her head nervously.
“No! If I had found such a thing I would have turned it into the librarian.”
She said with an icy tone looking at him straight in the eyes with a cold glance.
Closing the book she got up and placed it atop her “fortress” and looked down that column of books gently grabbing another and placing it where she was sitting on the floor.
She glanced at the hand the post it not was in nervously and swallowed.

“What’s that paper anyway? A stupid love note?”
She glared and began putting her long hair up, it waving with each swoop of the hair tie, her black glasses slid on her face contrasting her white porcelain skin making her freckles seem painted on as if she were a doll. Once she sat down again she rudely shoved her face back into the new book, her long bangs trickling back across the pages as she read.
People make me so nervous. I can’t stand to talk to them, better to act cold and outright snobbish then to show my nervousness.
There was a side that was allowed out with Alora, her true color were actually a very nervous and fragile girl that was scared out of her mind and yearned for a connection that showed her people can be good.
but that will be quite the fight for her to believe.
