| IF WE CAN STAY HERE LONG ENOUGH, WE CAN PLAY WITH BLOODY MARY |
It is his first time in Fairechild's office, but Stefan doesn't consider himself any more out of place than the oak desk that divides the room or the well-cared for fern that adds an accent of green in the otherwise plain office. He had stopped making the distinction based on familiarity a long time ago. With enough foresight, even a foreigner can learn the local languages (rules) of his environment. Stefan has had half a decade to mold a respectable gentleman. As long as his eyes never stray too far from the laws of the land, he belongs anywhere.
Although his host has not yet arrived, the coven leader sits nonchalantly - but not carelessly. Never carelessly. His shoulders are relaxed and his gaze is lowered, but by no means does he ever drop his vigilance. Never in a fae's office. Never in public. Never while conscious.
(How he goes to sleep is a mystery even among Absit Metum circles. Then again, his secrets are far too plentiful for anything to make much sense to the uninformed)
Stefan only waits calmly in his seat as he waits for Fairechild to arrive. His eyes sweep across the room once, and they do not wander again. There is hardly much to look for in this room, and furtive eyes are hardly something that anyone brings to a diplomatic meeting.
Not that reading his eyes would do anyone much good. Stefan had resolved that problem long ago. Somehow, he only seems more insincere when his glasses are removed. He takes the opportunity to wipe them quickly before returning them to their place.
He vaguely wonders what kind of a liar Fairechild is. SAY HER NAME INTO THE DARK, ACTIVATE OUR NERVE ENDINGS |
